Susan Feller SOLD OUT!

Hooked and Designed by Susan Feller

Author of Design Basics for Rug Hookers, Susan Feller is a self-taught Textile Artist, pursuing the many divergent, yet complimentary, techniques of fiber artwork. She has been involved as an artist and curator in many shows and Hooked Designed by Susan Feller juried events. In addition, she has written several articles and has had rugs included in Rug Hooking Magazine's Celebrations X, XVII, and XXI. She is a member of TIGHR and Surface Design Association.

Inspired by the McDonald Sisters of West Virginia, who incorporated a variety of fiber techniques into their rugs and footstools, and drawing on her own "tool box" of craft skills and art principals, Susan will encourage students to develop a personal style in their rugmaking. Working small squares in the Year Study project allowed Susan to experiment with new and old techniques. These lessons are important steps in her teaching method. The range of traditional rughooking for the floor, or mixed media to be admired on the wall, are projects students can explore during Susan's open class at Hooker Hill.
